Imokhai is a Nigerian-American from Akron Ohio. He is a recent graduate of Miami University where his obtained his Bachelors of Arts in Social Justice Studies. Imokhai will begin his full time Juris Doctor program at the University of Akron in the fall of 2017. Through law and politics, Imokhai strives to give back and serve his community while working to break down systems of oppression.
As a Founding Fellow, Imokhai sees the importance of uplifting our youth. Imokhai serves as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications where he provides leadership in the areas of community outreach, marketing, and the development of the fellowship as a non-profit organization. Imokhai is extremely passionate about he vision and mission of the UBM Fellowship to unleash the Black minds of our youth so that they can reach their full potential.
Jalen Brown is a Cleveland native and rising educator in Maple Heights, OH. He is a recent graduate from Miami University where he obtained his Bachelors of Science in Education. He now works at his former junior high, Milkovich Middle School where he is certified to teach Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. He empowers his students through mentorship, engages scholars with hands-on learning, and intentionally teaches personal growth.
As a Founding Fellow, Brown believes in the power of young people. He serves as UBM's Vice President of Operations where he provides leadership ensuring that Success is the Standard for program and organizational administration. He is deeply invested in the lives of so many students and is extremely grateful to be working with his two Sigma brothers on this adventure to Unleashing Black Minds providing robust opportunities to young Black men in our communities.
Todd Jackson is a Columbus Ohio native, raised in the hilltop neighborhood. He is a recent graduate form Miami University with a Bachelors of Arts in Geography. Currently, Todd works in the bankruptcy department at Manly Deas & Kochalski, LLC. In addition, Todd has recently started his own tutoring business teaching children and young adults not only to read and write, but to reach their full potential in anything that they put their mind to. His motto: Practice makes perfect.
As a founding Fellow, Todd hopes to inspire collaboration and unleash Black minds so that they will create a legacy that influences positive change in the Black community. As the current Vice President of Programming, he hopes to establish annual events that inform the Black community, while building confidence and leadership skills. Todd is extremely passionate about working with youth and is blessed to have the opportunity to touch the lives of so many of his brothers that this fellowship reaches. He is eager to unleash Black minds; showing them the education and continuious growth.
